Please head to the Training Request Forms page for more information. I do not anticipate in person classes starting again until late June, at the earliest.
Class Descriptions
Loyal Loved Rescued offers many classes to meet the needs of your dog. Please browse all of the course offerings and choose the class(es) that are the best fit for you and your dog. We offer classes that range from Basic Foundations all the way up to Advanced Canine Good Citizen Prep--we even have some fun trick classes available. Please email us if you have any questions.
Required Equipment
For each class, you will need the following:
In addition, please bring your dog's shot records AND adoption contract (if applicable) to your first class. You will also be asked to fill out a client contact sheet and sign a liability waiver before any training begins.
- Your dog (if you have enrolled more than one, please have one handler per dog)
- Flat buckle collar, martingale collar, harness or head halter (no prong collars, chain collars or e-collars)
- Nylon, rope or leather type leash. No retractable leads, please!
- A variety of small, tasty treats (the smellier the better!)
- A treat pouch (not necessary, but suggested)
- A good attitude (cheesy, I know, but it goes a long way!)

Basic Skills (formerly Basic Foundations)
$140 (tax included)
This course runs for nine weeks and covers all the basics that dog owners need to integrate their dog into a happy member of the family. Dogs of all ages are welcome and age appropriate vaccines are required. This course is designed for dogs who have little/no basic obedience. Skills covered in the nine weeks will include:

- Basic canine communication
- Crate training
- House Training
- Tackling problem behaviors like jumping, chewing, nipping and other attention seeking behaviors
- Basic handling (feet, teeth, ears, brushing)
- Sit, down, stay, come, leave it, impulse control, hand targeting, leash walking, focus exercises, place cue
- Release words
- Slowing adding duration and distraction.
- Introduction to adding Distance

Intermediate Skills

This course is designed as a follow up to Basic Skils and as such, that course is a prerequisite for enrolling.
During this highly adaptable 10 week course, you and your dog can expect to work on:

During this highly adaptable 10 week course, you and your dog can expect to work on:
- Puppy Push Ups
- Stand
- Down from a stand
- Leash walking drills (turns, auto sits, distraction, cues in motion)
- By Me
- Proofing existing behaviors in the face of distraction (movement, noise, small distance)
- Impulse control drills
- Waiting at doorways
- Recall with increased distraction
- Stay with increased distance and distraction
- Backing up, going around and going under

Advanced Skills
$160 (tax included)
This course runs for 10 weeks and is designed as a follow up to our Intermediate Skills course and gets your dog more steady with behaviors in the face of distraction as well as teach them problem solving skills. This course may require your dog to work in closer proximity to other dogs in class, so if your dog needs more space, please let me know!
Because this class is a continuation of Basic Skills and Intermediate Skills all dogs enrolled in this class must have completed both courses with Loyal Loved Rescued or have been previously evaluated by the instructor.

Because this class is a continuation of Basic Skills and Intermediate Skills all dogs enrolled in this class must have completed both courses with Loyal Loved Rescued or have been previously evaluated by the instructor.

- Advanced Leash Skills (heel, reverse, tight turns)
- Completing commands at a distance (down and sit)
- Recall with increased level distractions (food, people, other dogs)
- Cues in motion (sit, down, stop)
- Perch Work (various objects, surfaces)
- Pivot work (various objects/surfaces)
- Backing up (includes rear foot targeting)
- Going around objects (close and at a distance)
- Targeting objects at a distance
- Going under objects
- Group stays
- Paw Targeting

Therapy Dog Training
$160 (tax included)
This class is designed specificaly for dog/handler teams who wish to become certified therapy dogs. The length of this course is dependant on the skill set of the dogs enrolled. In this course, we will focus on the basics needed to pass the Alliance of Therapy Dogs certification test as well as basic skills that are needed to have a well balanced therapy dog. Dogs enrolling in this course should have a very strong foundation of basic obedience skills and have a temperament that lends itself to being very social. For this course, you will need a leash 4ft or shorter AND a therapy dog vest for your dog. Vests can be ordered here. Skills will include:
We will take numerous "field trips" to expose your dogs to new people and places. At the end of the course, a certified tester with ATD will conduct your test and finish your certification process.

Trick Training
$100 (tax included)
This is a four week course that is designed to show you some fun tricks to do with your dog. This class is designed for dogs who have a basic foundation of obedience and have an eagerness to learn new concepts. Attendance in our Basic Foundations course is recommended but NOT required. If your dog is clicker trained, you may bring a clicker to class. Tricks will vary per class. We will also work towards the AKC's new Trick Dog Titles as we move through class. This class is will be customized to meet the diverse needs of each group.

AKC Canine Good Citizen Prep Course
$110 (tax included)
This class will help you prepare to take the AKC's Canine Good Citizen test. The class runs for 5 weeks and will help you and your dog prefect the skills needed to earn your CGC certificate. This certificate is a prerequisite to the AKC's Community Canine test and is highly suggested for any dog looking to become a therapy dog.

- Accepting a friendly stranger
- Sitting politely for petting
- Appearance and grooming
- Out for a walk (loose leash) (left/right turns, u-turns, stopping)
- Walking through a crowd
- Sit and Down on command AND staying in place (20 feet distance)
- Coming when called (10 foot distance)
- Reaction to another dog
- Reaction to distraction
- Supervised separation (3 minutes)

Clicker Training 101 (coming soon!)

This four week course is designed to teach you the basics of clicker training. Clicker training allows your dog to use problem solving skills to figure out what behavior is desired rather than you showing the desired behavior. You will learn the following:
